OOTD: Peachy Keen

Spending the day on the beach is fun but spending the day on the boards is even better! I love walking the mile long boardwalk and seeing all the shops. (Not to mention spending all my money.)

It's amazing to me how confident people are when they go on vacation. I see so many people wearing things they probably never would at home. Maybe it's the fact that no one knows who you are or just that it's so stinking hot. All I know is I love seeing people with the confidence to be themselves.

OOTD: Olive & Khaki

This week I'm in Wildwood on vacation so get ready for a bunch of posts to be coming your way! I will be taking a whole lot of OOTD pictures for you all. My one rule for vacation dressing, be comfortable but put together. I hardly ever wear jewelry while I'm away because sunblock can ruin metals and you will get awkward tan lines (in my case sunburn).

For my first day, I just wanted something easy to walk around in. We headed to the shopping mall for a couple of hours and were lucky enough to find a Marketplace full of crafters and local businesses. We also stopped at the local bookshop and information center.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yup, it's my birthday and I've turned the big two three! Well, okay... it's not that big or important. I decided this go around I would share a few things I've learned through this past year. The good and the bad.

1. Do what makes you happy (even if it means you are broke most of the time).

2. Spread love not hate.

3. Take time to reflect on you and your life instead of others.

4. People don't always stick around in your life forever. So find that close group of friends or family who honestly have your back no matter what.

5. Be yourself. Why try to be someone you are not? What a waste of your life...

6. Dress for success. No matter if you are a doctor, office worker, or nanny, dress the part that you want to be in life.

7. Don't quit dreaming. There are so many things I still want to do in my life and I have got plenty of time to accomplish them. But start working towards those goals now, don't put them off forever!

Beach Bag Must Haves 2016!

Summer has officially arrived and everyone is headed to the beach! The scorching sun is no doubt a huge help in packing the beach full of families looking for some fun and college students ready to work on their tans! No matter if you are taking a day trip or are on vacation, your beach bag needs to be stocked with the essentials. I have a beach bag checklist to ensure that you are going to have a fun and safe time!

1. Sunscreen and Chapstick- Keeping your skin protected should be number one priority when spending hours outside in the sun's rays. I personally use three different types of sunscreen throughout the day.
My favorites are... Coppertone Oil Free Faces SPF 30, Banana Boat Protect & Hydrate SPF 50, and Banana Boat Regular SPF 50. I also make sure to reapply chapstick with an SPF in it because sunburnt lips are awful! Remember they are part of your skin too!

2. Big Hat- Another great way to keep your face, neck, and sometimes shoulders out of the sun. Plus it looks super cute!

3. Sunglasses- All this talk of protecting our skin, what about your eyes? Don't forget to bring a lens cleaner because I can guarantee they will end up covered in sunblock and sand!

4. Hair ties/clips and a Brush- Now that my hair has gotten longer, I carry extra hair ties with me everywhere. If you are headed into the Ocean, tie up your hair. It will be much easier to brush out and wash later. I also carry a brush for those windy days on the beach. We have all been there where your hair looks like a birds nest due to the wind.

5. Water and Snacks- What good is a trip to the beach if you end up dehydrated? Bring a large water bottle that you semi-froze over night and it will stay cold for most of your time on the sand. Small snacks such as Goldfish, fruit snacks, and grapes are perfect beach food.

6. Magazine or Book- Being at the beach isn't always about building sandcastles and swimming, for the most part it's about relaxing. This is where a great book or magazine comes in handy.

7. Ear Buds and Phone- I always bring my phone and ear buds with me in a ziplock or water proof bag. This is for the occasions when you have very annoying beach neighbors or you want to tune your kids out and get a break!

8. Beach Bag and Towel- A huge bag is key to throw everything in and go but you can't forget a small wristlet or, like me, a travel makeup bag for the smaller items. I love picking out a bright colored towel to take with me every year. These are items that allow you to show your personality at the beach.

Safety Tips: In my family every year we try to use the same beach bags and similar color towels to help us locate where our "camp" is for the day. Another great tips is to make sure your children know what your umbrella and chairs look like so they can spot them from the ocean. Teach your children to look at lifeguard stand numbers next to where you have set up for the day in case they get lost or hurt.

Enjoy the summer down the shore!

Mommy & Me

Mommy & Me style has boomed in the past few years due to fashion influenced celebrities having more and more babies! You and your child, or children, matching doesn't always mean wearing the exact same items of clothing. It can mean all of you wearing the same colors or type of garment. Below I've put together a few of my favorite Mommy & Me looks!

Summer Denim: Keep it cool in denim dresses. Great for a mommy/daughter day out or for a picnic! Two different styles to reflect your own personalities.

Mom

Daughter

Orange You Glad: Matching within the same color scheme but totally different patterns! By both wearing orange tops and similar jeweled shoes there is doubt that you two are twinning!

Mom

Daughter

A Family Affair: Whether you have a boy, girl, or both you can all match in similar colored strips and jeans!

Mom

Daughter

I would love to see some pictures of you and your little ones matching! Tag me on Facebook and Instagram or post a picture in the comments below!

Pantone's Spring/Summer Colors 2016

Pantone is the leading manufacturer of colors, color pallets, and trend reports in the fashion industry. Every season they release a Trend report on what will be "hot" this coming season. Since it seems like the summer weather is here to stay, I decided to share some of the color combinations with you with the hopes of it giving you wardrobe inspiration.

The Pantone Colors of the year are Rose Quartz and Serenity. This is the first year that they have picked two colors. These colors have been seen everywhere so far this season; on the runway, in retailers, even on your favorite web pages.

Add some stronger pastels to these and you have your Spring wardrobe colors!

Summer doesn't have to revolve around pastels. Think brights!

Most of these colors you can mix and match. I would recommend only trying to wear two at a time if you are starting out, but have fun. That is what Summer and fashion is all about.

Here are some fun color pairings to try:

1.

2.

3.

4.

Look forward to seeing some outfits I have put together with these colors.

Cannes Film Festival Fashion 2016

The Cannes Film Festival in France brings many different film stars together as well as, some amazing fashion. annes has become the place to showcase each stars glamorous fashion. There are photographers covering the venues, airports, and hotels all trying to catch the stars in their outfits. I have looked through hundreds of photos and picked my best dressed list. I have also seen a few of the Spring/Summer trends that I will also share with you.

First off, my best dressed list!

Jessica Chastain:

Blake Lively:

Kristen Stewart:

Anna Kendrick:

Naomi Watts:

Below are some of the trends and styles that I pulled out of what I saw. There are quite a few trends that I did not decide to comment on like shoes and floral prints. But these are the ones I thought were the newest.

We saw a lot of old Hollywood glamour on the red carpet. This is a classic style, it always comes back around time and time again. This look can be seen on Blake and Anna above.

Lots of bright colors such as blues and yellows could be seen all around the film festival.

One of the biggest looks on the red carpets was nude beaded gowns.

Can't wait to see if any of these looks transfer into the stores for this Spring/Summer season!

Spencer
