Tuesday- Met Gala 2015

The Metropolitan Museum of Art hosted it's Costume Institute Gala 2015 on May 4th. This is a huge fashion inspired event that many people from the industry attend. Each year the Met hosts the Gala to showcase their new Fashion Exhibit. This years theme/exhibit is "China: Through the Looking Glass".

Everyone in the industry gears up to see who will be wearing the best and craziest fashions of the night, all inspired this year by oriental fashion. Some people went very literal and others went more laid back with their interpretations. Here are some of my favorite looks...

Georgia May Jagger

Jennifer Lawrence

Sarah Jessica Parker

Bee Shaffer

Emily Blunt

Rihanna

Jennifer Lopez

Cara Delevingne

Media Monday- Top Ten Broadway Musicals

Growing up I listened to so many types of music from pop hits to heavy metal to people like Frank Sinatra. However, I have found a love and almost obsession in showtunes.  I was able to see a few Broadway shows over the years and the "magic" of it all has captured me.

My Top Ten Broadway Musicals is no order are...

Media Monday- Coachella Festival 2015

Coachella is one of the biggest music festivals held in America the spans two weekends. People from all over the world fly to the Los Angeles/Palm Springs area. Starting this week people will be packing into hotels waiting for the madness to begin. But something else that festival goers are doing is shopping!

Coachella is well known for festival goers unique bohemian rock style. We see a lot or fringe, flowy skirts, and wide brim hats. I defiantly think we will be seeing tons of crochet and fringe at this year's festival. Here is a look at last year's fashion and a bit of insight into what you will be seeing this time around.

Media Monday- McBusted

Enter the bands Busted and McFly! Some of you may remember these two UK pop-rock bands from the early 2000s, but what you may not know is that they have joined forces to create a super group!

They are on a world tour at the moment and have an album out titled, McBusted. Let me tell you, I am loving it! After all these years they can still find a way to put a new spin on a classic style of music.

One of their singles off the new album is Get Over It. I jam out to this song daily as I get dressed and it puts me in such an amazing mood! So here it is for your listening pleasure...

Media Monday- Meeting Lane Napper

I'm not sure if I have mentioned before but I am a huge lover of the art of Dance. I personally favor Tap dance and take class every week at Stepping Stone Dance Studio.

I got the amazing opportunity to take a Tap Master Class at from dancer and choreographer Lane Napper this weekend. He has worked with Nickelodeon for the past few years and his work can be seen on shows such as Victorious, iCarly, and Sam & Cat. Lane has a very broadway style dance background, which is my absolute favorite!

Lane has such a fun personality and I'm so glad I got to experience learning from him. Learning a routine from a choreographer is different than from you local dance teacher. A Choreographer of his nature deals with world class dancers on a daily basis, so he expects a lot from you. He was so relaxed in his teaching though, and he would stop for questions and to go over steps if needed.

Media Monday- Oscars Red Carpet 2015

None of my guesses were correct from my predictions post, but I have to say all the actresses looked stunning. The Oscars were such a fun filled night! So many lovely acceptance speeches and a lot more musical numbers than I remember from the past. My favorite of the evening had to be Lady Gaga's tribute to The Sound of Music

Back to the Fashion... There were many looks that I liked and I tried so hard to narrow them down! I couldn't but I do have my top three!

Reese Witherspoon in Tom Ford

Anna Kendrick in Thakoon

Emma Stone in Elie Saab

We can't forget about the rest of the ladies I predicted. Now while I don't really enjoy their dresses, they all looked so happy and radiant.

Felicity Jones in Custom Alexander McQueen

Julianne Moore in custom Chanel

Kiera Knightly in Valentino

Media Monday- BAFTA Awards 2015

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts held their award ceremony on Sunday, February 8th. The same night as the Grammy Awards in the US. So I know this is late news but I really enjoyed the looks on the red carpet at the BAFTAs and wanted to share with you.

Tanya Burr in Jenny Packham.

Jenna Coleman

Lea Seydoux

I don't usually focus on Men's fashion but when I saw the Green Velvet jacket that Douglas Booth wore I was impressed. It's something different from the standard black and navy we usually see.

Fashion Friday- Grammy Awards 2015

The Grammy Awards were held on Sunday, February 8th. I know this post is quite late in the week. I still wanted to share my favorites of the night and discuss two huge trends that we saw on the Red Carpet.

My favorite looks of the night were...

Katy Perry in Zuhair Murad.

Jessie J in Ralph & Russo.

Anna Kendrick in Band of Outsiders.

The two trends we are seeing very often on the red carpets this award season are Menswear suits and Black sequin dresses. We can see the menswear on Anna Kendrick above as well as the black sequins on Jessie J. Some others who wore the black sequin trend were Beyonce and Nicki Minaj.

Media Monday- Sports Illustrated

Big news in the Sports Illustrated world last week. For the first time EVER a plus sized model will be featured in their magazine. Now, the model is in an ad for Swim Suits for all, but its still ground breaking. Sports Illustrated is know for their tiny models clad in bikinis, though they should be stepping aside for the curvy girls reign!

I personally think the model featured, Ashley Graham, is beautiful. She has modeled for Target to Lane Bryant and has been on the cover of Vogue. This girl is making waves in the industry. Now many of you are looking at her going, she's no bigger than me, but at size 16 in the fashion world she is considered plus size. I don't agree with this because times have changed size the 1920's! It's time to rework the fashion size chart.

Media Monday- Katy Perry

I would like to take this time to talk about Katy Perry's outfits at the Super Bowl last night. I was one of the first one to say she is going to have so many wardrobe changes! She did and let me say, none of them were that great. I mean she showed up to the press conference in a football dress! You have to top that.

Her performance itself I thought was okay. She had Missy Elliot and Lenny Kravitz perform, she walked out on a huge metal tiger, and they had some really awesome floor animations.

I will give Katy props for taking the risk of changing outfits 4 times. There could have been a wardrobe malfunction!

Media Monday- SAG Awards 2015

Another Red Carpet of the 2015 season and I was bored again. Usually we see a lot more glam at the SAG Awards, but this year it wasn't as powerful as years past. I only had three looks that I actually liked as a whole.

I loved the jewel tones on these dresses and the different textures. Julianne Moore had sparkle as well as Sarah Hyland. Sarah however, also had a sheer overlay on her dress. Camila Alves wore a beautiful velvet dress which was unexpected in my opinion.

Media Monday- Home Show

On Saturday, my mom, sister, and I went to the Philadelphia Home Show at the Philadelphia Convention Center. The Home Show was a cool experience.  It's a bunch of vendors/companies ranging from windows and siding to hot tubs and saunas. There were even people cooking there trying to sell kitchen equipment. Most of what was there didn't pertain to us but I was fun to just go and look around the place.

I only took a few snapshots of the day but I hope you enjoy them.

After the home show we grabbed a bite to eat and had a walk around Reading Terminal Market. It was PACKED full of people and needless to say we didn't stay long.

Instead, we went to a couple of shops and I found the best home ware section ever in Burlington Coat Factory. It looked like it was made for me!

Hope you liked a little insight into my weekend.
