Thoughtful Thursday- Inspiring

Source

Everyday I check other people's Blogs, or watch Youtube videos, or read Magazines and I become inspired by what I find there. I try things because of them or I learn how to perfect something with other's help. With this Blog I'm hoping to give you a pick me up and inspire you to do the same as me. Try to update your look, or try a new make up product. I hope by me being inspired you will be too.

Tuesday- My New Glasses!

This weekend I went to Lenscrafters and got new eyeglasses which I am in love with. I have always worn eyeglasses that were of a more small rectangular shape and I was slowly hating my old ones. These are a bit bigger but I think they suit my face way better than my old ones! Also, Lenscrafters has a great variety of brands and prices. Plus all of their frames are very classic and yet still current. I also purchased sunglasses but they are being shipped so I will show you them once they are here!

I purchased a pair of Coach "Fannie" eyeglasses in Dark Tortoise with Green inner arms.

Media Monday- Oscars Red Carpet 2015

None of my guesses were correct from my predictions post, but I have to say all the actresses looked stunning. The Oscars were such a fun filled night! So many lovely acceptance speeches and a lot more musical numbers than I remember from the past. My favorite of the evening had to be Lady Gaga's tribute to The Sound of Music

Back to the Fashion... There were many looks that I liked and I tried so hard to narrow them down! I couldn't but I do have my top three!

Reese Witherspoon in Tom Ford

Anna Kendrick in Thakoon

Emma Stone in Elie Saab

We can't forget about the rest of the ladies I predicted. Now while I don't really enjoy their dresses, they all looked so happy and radiant.

Felicity Jones in Custom Alexander McQueen

Julianne Moore in custom Chanel

Kiera Knightly in Valentino

Thoughtful Thursday- Overthink

Source

Not only are these words lyrics in a One Direction song but they hold something true. If there is something in your life that you are thinking about too much, and it's something you can't change, you have to let it go. No matter what you do you can never change it, so why keep obsessing?

Tuesday- Places to Visit

Since this winter has been extremely cold and we get snow almost every weekend now I've been thinking of all the warm places I want to visit in the future. I can't wait to be able to travel around the world an experience new things. But a few places that are on the top of my list are...

Santorini, Greece

Mykonos, Greece

Sydney, Australia

Port Douglas, Australia

Sorrento, Italy

I hope this brings you some warm weather cheer!

Media Monday- BAFTA Awards 2015

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts held their award ceremony on Sunday, February 8th. The same night as the Grammy Awards in the US. So I know this is late news but I really enjoyed the looks on the red carpet at the BAFTAs and wanted to share with you.

Tanya Burr in Jenny Packham.

Jenna Coleman

Lea Seydoux

I don't usually focus on Men's fashion but when I saw the Green Velvet jacket that Douglas Booth wore I was impressed. It's something different from the standard black and navy we usually see.

Douglas Booth in Dunhill.

Saturday Surprise- Valentine's Day Wear

A surprise for you on this Saturday! I have put together a few looks for the last minute Valentine's Day plans! Whether you are going to a movie or to a fancy dinner, there is something for you.

The style of dress below, A-line, flatters most body types. Adding the belt helps make your waist look even smaller than the dress does.

Silver Sandals: Forever21
Black Handbag: Forever21
Bracelet: Target

When wearing a high waisted skirt, shown below, make sure that the shirt your tucking in is either form fitting or has enough fabric to bellow over the top a bit.

Black T-Shirt: Target

The mix of the light pink and dark burgundy gives this outfit interest. The detailing on the sweater also helps to bring the eye toward your face without adding a necklace which could snag on your sweater.

Rings: Forever21

Fashion Friday- Grammy Awards 2015

The Grammy Awards were held on Sunday, February 8th. I know this post is quite late in the week. I still wanted to share my favorites of the night and discuss two huge trends that we saw on the Red Carpet.

My favorite looks of the night were...

Katy Perry in Zuhair Murad.

Jessie J in Ralph & Russo.

Anna Kendrick in Band of Outsiders.

The two trends we are seeing very often on the red carpets this award season are Menswear suits and Black sequin dresses. We can see the menswear on Anna Kendrick above as well as the black sequins on Jessie J. Some others who wore the black sequin trend were Beyonce and Nicki Minaj.

Thoughtful Thursday- Sunshine

Source

I feel like this quote is a better way to say leave the past behind or let the people who bring you down go. Every once in a while my self conscious self creeps back into my brain and I think people are saying the worst things about me. Truth is, they are most likely not even noticing me!

After high school I've come to realize that if people don't like me they don't have to. I don't like everyone either but I'm still treat them with respect. The most important thing though, is to treat yourself with respect. If you don't, who will?

Tuesday- Steal Her Look: Christina Hendricks

Source

Christina Hendricks has a classic style and it seems that she always looks put together. I put this look together for a more curvy, or plus size, woman but you can change up a few of the items to make it work for you! The wrap style dress gives the illusion of a waist and smaller tummy. The patterned tights add interest while helping slim the legs.

Purple Wrap Style Dress: Macy's
Plaid Patterned Tights: Lane Bryant
Necklace: H&M
Fur Stole: Forever21
Felt Hat: H&M
Suede & Leather Purse: H&M
Ankle Booties: H&M

Media Monday- Sports Illustrated

Big news in the Sports Illustrated world last week. For the first time EVER a plus sized model will be featured in their magazine. Now, the model is in an ad for Swim Suits for all, but its still ground breaking. Sports Illustrated is know for their tiny models clad in bikinis, though they should be stepping aside for the curvy girls reign!

I personally think the model featured, Ashley Graham, is beautiful. She has modeled for Target to Lane Bryant and has been on the cover of Vogue. This girl is making waves in the industry. Now many of you are looking at her going, she's no bigger than me, but at size 16 in the fashion world she is considered plus size. I don't agree with this because times have changed size the 1920's! It's time to rework the fashion size chart.

Fashion Friday- Spring Shoes 2015

On the Spring 2015 Ready-to-Wear runways we saw a few different shoe trends. One of the biggest trends, and my favorite, was the Ladylike Chunky Heel. Yes people, it's making a comeback! This style was big a couple years ago and has since returned.

At Giambattista Valli, shoes were adorned with heavy metals and floral prints.

Bottega Veneta featured shoes that look as if they were inspired by ballroom shoes, and featured wicker or straw like elements.

At the Vera Wang show, we saw shoes that were extremely chunky and platformed.

Looking forward to breaking out my heels this Spring!

Thoughtful Thursday- Try Something

Source

This past week I have tried something new and I'm planning on doing a few new things too. I know this is quite cryptic but I don't want to jink what I have planned. I find it very uplifting to be doing all this and planning for my future, working toward my goals.  My wish is that each of you tries something new this week. Even if its something small like a new drink or food.

Tuesday- Spring 2015 Couture

Last week Paris was host to my favorite fashion week, Spring 2015 Couture. I love Couture because it can be super out of the box. All of the clothing, usually gowns, is handmade. I think that we will be seeing a few of the gowns on the upcoming red carpets.

Two of my all time favorite designers are Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad. They always have the best embellishments on their clothing. I love all the beading, lace, and sparkle. This year Valentino and Giambattista Valli also added a lot of embellishments to their collection. Since it was a Spring collection, we saw tons of florals.
