Tuesday- Real Techniques Brushes

For the past few Christmases I have treated myself and bought a present that I know no one else will be getting me. This year I bought Real Techniques Makeup Brushes. I have been hearing rave reviews about these brushes for years. Even my sister is obsessed with them. I bought the Core Collection and Starter Collection. Both collections come with a stand-up brush case.

The Core Collection is mainly for foundation and concealer.

The brush names are Contour Brush, Pointed Foundation Brush,
Detailer Brush, and Buffing Brush.

The Starter Collection is mainly for all things eyes.

The Brush names are Deluxe Crease Brush, Fine Liner Brush, Base Shadow Brush,
Accent Brush, and Brow Brush.

The Real Techniques Brushes have the softest bristles of any makeup brush I've ever felt. The bristles are made of synthetic fibers but they are so soft! These brushes pick up makeup well, you don't have to grind into your pallets. Also, the foundation brushes are miracle workers. I always have a hard time getting my foundation to blend into my skin but the brushes almost do the work for you. I would highly suggest buying Real Techniques brushes.

Media Monday- 90's Fashion Returned

Throughout 2014 I started to see something creeping back into the stores and eventually into people's wardrobes. It was the return of 1990's fashions!

The 90's and early 2000's were not the best time for fashion, everything was very bland, so when I saw it making a comeback I panicked. In fact I'm still panicking. Why are we bringing back the minimalist clothing and terrible shoes. I will say that there were some trends this year that I didn't mind so much.

For instance, I don't mind overalls, crop tops, short slip dresses, and the overall grunge look.

But please people, the high-waisted mom jeans, Birkenstocks, and choker necklaces... Leave it in the past!

Fashion Friday- What I Wore for Christmas

I hope everyone has enjoyed themselves over the Holidays! I know I did. I was lucky enough to spend it with a bunch of my family and friends! It was such a nice time to catch up with people I haven't seen in a while.

I wanted to share with you what I wore over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. My sister is also in some pictures because I helped her pick her outfit on Christmas Eve.

On Chirstmas Eve, I spent the day at home and me and my sister wore our Christmas Sweaters/Shirts. For dinner we all went to my cousins house and we saw some family members. I ended my night however, at my best friend's (second family's) house! They have a huge Christmas Eve party and it was an awesome way to spend the night.

Tuesday- Favorite Pre-Fall 2015 Collections

The last few weeks we have seen Pre-Fall 2015 collections from various Fashion Houses. I have looked through them all and have so many favorites this coming fall, that it was hard for me to narrow down what to put in this post.  I've noticed a few different trends that we will be seeing Fall 2015. A lot of bohemian prints, embellishments, and the resurgent of the hourglass shape. Of course there were still a few Designers who still focused on minimal dressing but most of them have gone back to over doing it!

I loved the showing of over dressed pants. Whether it was jumpsuits or trousers, pants were shown as dressy pieces rather than weekend wear!

Lela Rose

Elie Saab

Jenny Packham

I also couldn't contain my excitement to see all the dresses and gowns that were shown! I loved the contrast of structured and flowy dresses in all of the collections.

Fashion Friday- How To Wear a White Button Down (Fall/Winter)

A lot of people want to get double or triple duty out of their wardrobe, and most of the time you can. With the right pieces and accessories you can transform one article of clothing into so many different looks.

I'm going to show you a few outfit ideas to do with a plain white button down for Fall or Winter.

A white button down has always been a work staple but why not change it up with some fun pants and necklaces. This look you can either tuck in the shirt or leave it out like I have down. Also feel free to layer necklaces, a short and couple long would work well with this.

White Button Down: Joe Fresh
Patterned Cropped Pants: Target
Brown Ballet Flats: Payless
Rose Gold Necklace: H&M

Another work look, is layering your shirt under a dress. Notice the dresses shape has provided a way to hide the shirts fabric and buttons underneath. Of course you could do a printed dress as well to really add color.

White Button Down: Joe Fresh
Woolen Navy A-Line Dress: Forever 21
Black Tights: Merona at Target
Black Mary Jane Heels: Kenneth Cole
Pearl Necklaces: Vintage

The next outfit could be a Friday work look or for running weekend errands. Again all about the layering and adding accessories! In the winter I would add a heaving cardigan.

Grey Lightweight knit Cardigan: H&M
Straight Leg Jeans: Old Navy
Black Ankle Boots: American Eagle at Payless
Turquoise Necklace: H&M

Lastly, a casual outfit. This has a heavier sweater but with the boat neck it's nice to have a shirt under it to keep you warm. Also simple things like turning up the cuffs of the shirt give this look some "style". This is actually one of my favorite looks, a button down under a sweater. I live in this look, or similar ones, through the winter.

Thoughtful Thursday- Friends

Source

When the Holidays start coming up I really get to thinking about my friends. Whether it's what presents to get who, did I send so and so a card, or I haven't seen her in months, they always pop up in my mind. I really do have some friends that know me better than my family and I don't get to see them or talk to them often. I know that no matter what my friends are there if I need them and it's so nice to know that I have that support team!

Thank you,

Tuesday- Celebrity Style Favorites

My personal style is a mixture of vintage and modern. Meaning I pull inspiration from many different people and places, throughout all time periods. I really like to 50-60's style of dress where everything was proper and dresses were the go to. I do love that I have the freedom to wear sweats whenever I want to; however, wouldn't it be nice for everyone to dress up everyday? Most of the time I describe my style as girly. I love dresses, skirts, and anything sparkly.

My all time icon for fashion is Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. I have an obsession with her that I honestly can't explain. I think she is beautiful and dressed impeccably. She was so smart and a well rounded individual.

I believe that from Jackie many of today's celebrities/stylists pull inspiration. People like Lauren Conrad and Olivia Palermo. Now I never watched the shows these women were on and I still don't know how they really got their start, but over the past couple years I've seen how much their style reflects mine. They are both very fashion forward. I do think that Olivia watches trends more than Lauren but Lauren is way more girly in her dressing.
