Fashion Friday- Black & white

You can almost never go wrong with black and white. This season the trend is to only stick with black and white, no pops of color. So I have put together a few fun looks for you. Remember don't be afraid of pattern!! The patterns are textures are what is going to make your look stand out, or pop.

Thoughtful Thursday- New York

Source

I started my last semester of classes and this time round I have to go to NYC to take a couple of them. Yesterday was my first time back to my school buildings in two years! It was weird to be back but I enjoyed it as much as you could enjoy school I suppose.

I love New York it is one of my favorite places in the world. I especially love it when there is snow on the ground! I hope that I will be sharing that love to you all soon!

Tuesday- Snow Day Music Videos

It's another Snow Day! I have been sitting home eating chocolate and doing school work. I did take the dog out for a walk to counteract the chocolate! Also, been going through my music playlist on Youtube and I've found some gems that I had forgotten about. So to brighten up your day here is my Snow Day Playlist!

Media Monday- SAG Awards 2015

Another Red Carpet of the 2015 season and I was bored again. Usually we see a lot more glam at the SAG Awards, but this year it wasn't as powerful as years past. I only had three looks that I actually liked as a whole.

I loved the jewel tones on these dresses and the different textures. Julianne Moore had sparkle as well as Sarah Hyland. Sarah however, also had a sheer overlay on her dress. Camila Alves wore a beautiful velvet dress which was unexpected in my opinion.

Thoughtful Thursday- Sparkle

Source

I'm sure everyone has bad weeks or months and they feel like nothing is going right.
That's how I've been feeling lately.

It's a number of different things all hitting me at the same time but there is one thing that really annoyed me this week. People putting others down. I have learned through my (short) life that people will always try to knock you down. Don't give in to them, let them say their piece but remember how strong and amazing you are. It took me 20 years to get to the place I'm in now where I love myself and who I am. You should love yourself too because you are a wonderful person no matter what anyone says.

Take time to tell yourself how much you love yourself. how smart, creative, kind, or brave you are!

Thank you

Media Monday- Home Show

On Saturday, my mom, sister, and I went to the Philadelphia Home Show at the Philadelphia Convention Center. The Home Show was a cool experience.  It's a bunch of vendors/companies ranging from windows and siding to hot tubs and saunas. There were even people cooking there trying to sell kitchen equipment. Most of what was there didn't pertain to us but I was fun to just go and look around the place.

I only took a few snapshots of the day but I hope you enjoy them.

After the home show we grabbed a bite to eat and had a walk around Reading Terminal Market. It was PACKED full of people and needless to say we didn't stay long.

Instead, we went to a couple of shops and I found the best home ware section ever in Burlington Coat Factory. It looked like it was made for me!

Hope you liked a little insight into my weekend.

Fashion Friday- Red and Green

One of my favorite outfits that I wear Fall through Spring is this. I love Army green paired with a bright red. In the Spring I wear a T-shirt under the Blazer but for winter I'm wearing a long sleeve shirt. I think this look is perfect for work or school. Due to the gold buttons on the shirt I kept the accessories to a minimum. I enjoy how classic this outfit is but still looks modern because of the colored jacket.

Red Blazer: H&M
White Sheer Long Sleeve Top: H&M
Army Green Pants: Spoon Jeans at Alloy
White Cami: Forever21
Brown Tall Boot: Pink & Pepper at DSW
Gold Circle Necklace: Forever21

PS Can you tell how cold I am? Where is my jacket?

Thoughtful Thursday- Dreams

Source

When I was little I imagined this whole life. I was going to be a Princess and live in a Castle and never have to work. That dream came crashing down pretty quickly as I started growing up and learning about the world. But one thing that never changed was that I dreamed of a different life.

Now I want to travel the world and I would love to have an amazing career in Fashion. I always knew that you had to work hard to get what you want in life, but I didn't realize that the industry I was going into is as crazy as it is.

Fashion is such a hard thing because you have to be so far ahead of what the general public will want. Nowadays, it seems like everyone is trying to be a stylist or designer. Which is good; we now have many different perspectives in the industry, instead of the small few it started out with.

Working hard is a fact of life but if you love what you are doing it won't always seem like work.

What I Wore Wednesday- Dog Walker

I rarely am the person who walks the family dog, Max, but I figured if I was going to brave the cold for outfit pictures I should take him along as well. He did not care that I was taking pictures at all. As they say, you should never work with pets or children...

Tuesday- Steal Her Look: Reese Witherspoon

source

I saw this picture of  Reese Witherspoon the other day and I loved how simple yet put together her outfit was. I used this photo as inspiration for a look. I however changed the pants from Jeans to Trousers so it would be a more work appropriate look. I also added some more color with the shirt.

I love how she keeps most of her pieces classic but uses color, pattern, and accessories to make her look modern. She usually is in dresses due to the nature of her title, but when she wears casual wear it's like she walked out of a magazine. We rarely see her in jeans but when you do it's always a perfect look. You know I love dresses/skirts and her personal style is so close to mine, I always look into what she is wearing. She always pairs her clothing pieces in a smart way.

Thoughtful Thursday- Good Things

Being that 2015 has officially started, and I'm already swamped with school work, I thought this little saying was appropriate. I have so many good things that will be happening this year and I can't wait. No matter how tough it gets just remember...

What I Wore Wednesday- A Snowy Day

White Fuzzy Sweater: Alloy
White Cami: Forever21
Blue/Green Jeggings: ?
Black Tall Boots: Pink & Pepper at DSW

It has finally snowed! I personally love snow; however, not so much the cold. Since it has snowed and I am working today, I need to be able to move around a lot and still warm. What's better than a furry sweater and jean leggings? I have had these pants for a couple of years so I'm not sure where they are from exactly. I believe it might be JCPenny or WalMart.

Tuesday- Pantone's Color of the Year 2015 Companion Colors

A Few weeks ago I made a post about Pantone's Color of the Year 2015, Marsala.

I wanted to share with you some colors that work well with Marsala and show you some outfit ideas as well.

Marsala is close to the color Burgundy but is a bit lighter. I think that most stores are going to translate Marsala into their collections through the color Burgundy though.

Some colors that work with and look great with Marsala/Burgundy are greys, very light purple, olive green, most browns, and pink.

In the outfit below, we are using Camel and olive green as base colors so that the Marsala colored pants will pop. Keeping the accessories simple helps to not overwhelm the look.

Necklaces, Earrings, and Boots: Forever 21

The next outfit focuses on the top as a standout piece. This look is more casual than the two other outfits shown. Since it is more simple the accessories are again simple pieces.

Earrings, Bag, and Boots: Forever21

The final look has similar colors to the one above however, it has a pop of pink in the shoes. This will help to draw the eye down the entire outfit.

Jewel Necklace and Clutch: Forever21

I hope this has given you some inspiration and you will try to experiment with these
colors on your own!

Thank you
